What is this madness? Is Riot really too concerned about that person farming the 37 IP in a solo bot game all day long (which you can just recruit one more person to do anyways) that they wont let me play a custom game solo anymore? They apparently want me to ruin someone's normal game by me playing a champion I've never touched before and don't know the numbers for his abilities or by running a new jungle route.

Is there a better explanation on Riot's part than "We didn't want people farming tiny amounts of IP every day"?

They do this whenever there's lots of people online and the servers are having trouble, to reduce the amount of stress the servers are under. It'll go back to normal once things settle down.

A 1 person game takes an equal amount of game space as a 10 person game. In times of high server stress we sometimes temporarily increase the number of humans required to start a game in order to make sure more people can get into a game and have it start quickly with as few problems as possible.

Again, this is temporary, not something we want to keep. I'm sorry for the hassle. If you just want to practice a champion try hosting an open practice game or a Co-op vs AI

Ah okay. I was under the impression that this was a change in the latest patch. My mistake. Thanks for the timely response.

Not to say something that probably hasn't been said, or even thought about on your side of the fence; why don't you just make a thread that updates and shows when red's make a post about a given problem. And when it is resolved, the red post gets erased or edited.

Now alot of people are prone to rushing and typing as fast as they can " I CANT HAS MY SINGLE PLAYER ONLY ME PRACTICE TIME?!? WHEN DID YOU DO THIS!?! NAZIS' NAZIS'!!!!" But at least if there is a thread listed: CURRENT ISSUES BEING WORKED ON AND STILL RELEVANT" hopefully they can go looking ^_^.

Just saying.

No offense but in respect to all of the riot posts to the effect of "If we could fix the server issues buy spending more money, we would have already" this problem clearly shows me that LOL does not have enough servers.

Simply put as they currently are LOL's servers can not handle the load that the users are placing on them and therefore LOL needs more servers and riot's previous posts have not been completely truthful.

At least put 'temporary' in the client message. These threads keep coming everytime you do this.

Why don't we just have an offline mode that earns no summoner IP or EXP where you can play against bots? That would help reduce some server lag when people all join at once after servers are down since some might be in games and not logging in for a bit. You could also practice without using the server space. Just allow them to set things however they want in the offline version as far as runes and masteries

Keep in mind the majority of the time we do this is when we are experiencing some form of instability on the existing servers. If we lose connectivity to a server cluster, that will lower our capacity. We have plenty of hardware normally, but if there is an issue, that will affect capacity at that moment.
