I think the problem is that Irelia can do well in both a teamfight and 1v1.
Dunno how to make her more balanced without sacrificing the signature healz from Hiten and Transcendent though. Maybe have Transcendent Blades heal for half on minions? Or increase cooldown.

The nerf to Equilibrium strike was good though. Irelia used to be able to stun+nuke and chase down, AND gain the level advantage needed to do so in a 1v2 lane.

I think it makes no sense to be reactionary to the possibly of nerfs in the future.

She's not a common ban in High elo and nor is she really an omg must pick Irelia. If anything, Nocturne gets banned more often than Irelia.

Even in tournament play there wasn't much concern about Irelia. Where are your sources!

Well, community concerns about Riot balancing practices are valid. Riot tends to take a heuristic approach to balance which leads to ups and downs with regards to actual balance.

Edit: Actually, it'd be interesting if Riot could provide top bans in ELO brackets. I'm almost certain that Shen is the only consistent top elo ban atm.

Great so the smallest % of the player base determines what will & won't change.

Rammus,Amumu,Shen (yes even after the nerfs to his ult),& noc all still get bans in mid/low elo Ire is not.

Are the above champs in need of a nerf too?

I've watched Guardsman bob,hotshotgg, etc live streams, & yes they are good players, but are not so much better than decent ranked players, that what players in high elo "ban often" is grounds for a nerf.

I actually have no idea what the balance guys are cooking up. But from my personal play experience (I have played her a lot recently), she seems too strong.

im saying irelia is a very good champion but not OP and if she gets nurf again she will probably become a pantheon...

Irelia is not even banned nowadays. Noc, Eve, Ryze, Shen, Ren, Jarvan, Singed are.

Sure some champions get picked more then others, then you should nerf Ashe and Warwick since they are picked in all ELO's alot and never got nerfed.

Just to answer the OP: Yes, she will be nerfed. Remember the tournament game with CLG vs the BR team? That Irelia got walled into all of CLG and didn't die. Phreak was Phreaking out.

Pretty sure since that incident she will become overplayed and thus warrant a nerf-bat.
