There are a few medium items like this and Spirit Visage that are good enough and cheap enough without needing an upgrade.

Spirit Visage is good on a select few situations because it's the only item that increases healing done. Spell pen can be obtained from a ton other sources, along with health and AP.

QSS takes off any debuff you can possibly have on you but only offers 56 MR otherwise. There are better choices for MR items and you'll rarely be in a situation where you'll need to spend 1440 gold to specifically counter one champ every minute.

For a reference on how much MR costs, Negatron Cloak is 48 MR for 740 gold.

Perhaps it should have a unique passive or active like visage or wriggles.

Excellent analysis btw. If an item doesn't build into something later it should be particularly strong for early game.

Thanks Shurelia. It is a very strong item early, just not worth it in the long run as it'll always be sold later. Unless you start racking up kills with it early it won't be worth it. Even then if you're gonna rack up kills go with a Mejai's around the same price.

This is why I love Riot, you guys actually listen to your community.

Btw, let's get off QSS. Keep this thread on topic please. I'm removing any mention of QSS from the OP.
