By himself, it would take Rammus quite a long time to do that. The only reason he would have that much health left is because he's so durable.

And in that sense, the true value of that matchup is how much of Karthus's time Rammus is wasting rather than the actual death of Karthus. That's the job of a tank.

Caitlyn needs to stop being a skank and AFKing for the first 40 minutes of the game, and be at least half of the tank's level.

Shen is a tank with absolutely horrible damage.


Also - Taric does plenty of damage while building pure tank. You just have to get armor pen runes, and either a starks (aura's help allies) or ghost blade and use your ult ad boost for it's ad boost ^_^

Oh yeah AND - Rammus v Karthus, I go in Karth's favor. Rylias means Rammus gets pretty much 1 initiation power ball, dbc, taunt - during which time defile is on, and karth takes mild damage (since his ad is weak) in retaliation from Rammus. Then a few seconds later the taunt wears off, the dbc wears off, and if rammus insists he can powerball through a wall to eat more defile and laying waste :\

When rammus finally pb's away he gets Karthulted.

To put it blunt, tanks need damage to do their job. Without damage they would be considered as 0 risk in any team fight outside of a 2 second taunt. It mathematically and functionally would be impossible for a tank to work without any out going damage.

Tanks have a special ability. They have the ability(ies) to save a teammate(s) from death, or to open a fight. Their damage calculation is figured for pure team fights. This is when tanks matter, not because they can roll in and solo a single DPS, but for all the DPS to create burn targets and not die in the fray.

Mathematically, a Yi or Cait can out damage a tank. Should they try it? God no, and it would be stupid if you were. Their job is to survive, so at no point would it be reasonable to say "I should have the ability to solo tanks because I'm a DPS"... that would make tanks extremely pointless wouldn't it?

You obviously never play a full tank character. Tanks that end up with kills are usually accidental ks. I know because the way I play Rammus, isn't for hurting folk traditionally. If I solo a Karth then the Kathus must be really bad for letting me get near him.

Tanks dont kill stuff very fast they can only win in battles of attrition where he continuesly wears someone down and then can continuesly tank which mitigates his dmg. The word tank in general is a loose term which some people consider Cho a tank and some people only consider shen and rammus tanks.
