As I understand it (and correct me if I'm wrong), Leaverbuster automatically hands out suspensions based on frequency of leaves and ratio of games played to games left. That's all well and good for weeding out chronic leavers, but it hits newbies really hard for something as simple as a disconnect - if you play two games, and then lag out on your third and get a leave, the system sees that you've left 33% of your games and hands out a suspension.
I see countless "I just got suspended for disconnecting once" stories, and while some of them leave out important details, others are honest newbies who just started playing yesterday and happened to disconnect for whatever reason.
So, is there any way to keep Leaverbuster mostly as it is, but adjust it so that newbies aren't punished so harshly? Maybe if the account is under level 10 or so, just send an email warning ("You seem to have left a game - try not to do it again, yeah?") for the first leave or two, but of course hand out suspensions like normal if they start to abuse it.
