I'm quitting League of Legends today, and I thought I'd hand in my 2 cents for what it's worth, whether riot sees this or not, I'd like them to have the chance to see what someone who's played their game more than 1100 times in the past year has to say about their game and what I think should change. Consider this one of those feedback inserts given whenever someone discontinues a service. My roommates and classmates all play this game, so if you have heard my post and make changes, I will continue to play.
The reason I stopped was plain and simple: It got really depressingly not fun to play, and I will list the reasons below.
I know, I know, I know, you must get thousands of threads QQing about this sort of thing, but this is the primary reason I left: The ELO rating system can't be worse- now please dont stop reading here and let me explain why. As you know, it's a team game, and the team losing the game gives a reduction of score to the individuals who lost. This would be fine if the game wasnt so absolutely completely sensitive to destruction by 1 person. You have seriously no idea, riot, how many games I have gone through in 900 ELO where lack of team communication, a feeding teammate, or just someone's simple unaware playing, does damage to my ELO. A system where someone else can hurt my rating on my own team is a system I'm reluctant to be a part of. It's simply an unfair system and I've had enough of it. If you change it, being someone who's contributed at least 60 dollars in riot purchases, and would likely spend more if continuing, would continue. the tribunal was a nice touch to the reporting system and it made things wonderful for punishing people, but I'm positive it's not enough. The community needs moderators. Just make it happen and get some of these children in game under control.
I'd love to play this game more, because at it's core its a fantastic game, but the amount of fun I have in it is outweighed with the frustrations and luck-based elo system that I come across. It's become an addictive but unpleasant experience.
Thank you if you read through this and I hope it helps.
Have a good one
