What the community thinks: ZOMG PERFECT EXAMPLE OF PEOPLE SPAMMING PUNISH FOR FREE IP TRIBUNAL BROKEN RIOT WORST GAMING COMPANY EVER.

What is actually meant: 94% of the people who end up in the Tribunal are there because they deserve to be there.

Seriously. It's getting annoying when people use this quote as justification for saying that everyone just spams "Punish" for free IP.

Punished cases are reviewed by Riot too, you know.

I guess people forgot you get IP for pardoning...

Of the people that are punished, it seems to be:
85% deserved a punish.
12% could at least be somewhat argued.
3% were unjustifiably punished.

One fact remains though:

I didn't study statistics or probability, but doesn't that mean that if you auto-punish all cases you have roughly 94% chance of getting each of them right?


And in the end that'd translate to... an average of 13 or 14 correct cases out of 15 per day?


So who's saying auto-punish doesn't work...

Spend 10 mins on tribunal and you realize most of the ppl do deserve to be there. They are going 1/10/0 and typing 5x more than any other player. Regardless of the insults they are typing, if they are typing that much, they are not paying attention to the map, to cs, to teamfights, or they are just dead all the time so spend their time insulting ppl.

Yes some of the ppl on tribunal aren't super bad, that is why pardon exists. But they got there for a reason. I hvn't seen anybody on there reported who did nothing wrong. I hvn't seen ppl reported for feeding with a 14/2/10 score, or ppl reported for bad language, who didn't type anything. It is a matter of how detrimental to their team they were.
