So I have been pondering this for awhile and feel like I would like to ask the community for their opinions on this. After hearing many people in games basically say that skins=skills, (which I know is bogus) why not implement a system that COULD in fact have a better way of showing off in game. My thoughts are to have different skins for each champion that could only be unlocked after a certain number of wins with the respective champion.
This would mean for instance that once you have won 50 games with ashe, then you would unlock a skin that you can only get with this system and not buy with RP or IP. Continuing with this trend you could potentially have additional skins at the 100 win and 250 win marks (numbers are just to make a point). The point is that it should not be an EASY thing to unlock these skins so that if you have them or see them, then you know they worked hard for those skins.
I know that there is already kind of a reward system (1 skin per season) but that skin does not reflect very much upon a player. Someone can easily get that 1500 rating in 20 games and even then the players that soar above gold have hardly anything extra to show for their work done.
I thought this thread would be an interesting addition to the game to see the effort put in and have amazing looking rewards for these players. Things that could also go with this system are icons or symbols next to summoners names. I think it would add an interesting aspect of a "rank up" type of system. Let me know what everyone thinks about this. I would be curious to see what the community and even any Rioteers think about this.
