The thing about an event that has the world watching is that half the world is going to be late at night. In this instance, it sucks for Europe, but not for Asia.
Actually, the day and time isn't that great for the east coast of the USA either (especially, the later games). In addition, its happening on a weekday instead of a weekend. None of this is optimal. However, they have to get the games played before the weekend if they want to have the Championship this weekend.
Also, and lets be honest here, they want to play these games at the first possible time. In case, God forbid, they have more technical issues. Thus, giving them more time to fix things.
Again, the time of the matches does suck for Europe, but doesn't for Eastern Asia. This is a World event, not a European event. Someone was going to get the shaft on the timing, and this time it is Europe.
