Captures and capture assists are way at the bottom of the list of things that matter

Oh, oops. Good point, FDru. I used to multicap (and I think all of us at one point or another) even after knowing it doesn't really help the team. It just takes time to mature out of that mindset. Although it would be nice if only first-to-start-cap got the gold and points in order to help make the learning curve more intuitive.

there's a fine balance, though. too many people chase kills and too many others overdo caps/defense - Riot emphasizes both in different ways and it presents Dominion as a dumbed down mode.

i think there needs to be a score system - not only one that rewards more (and different) things but also reworks the current point values. ie: nothing like what we have.

Your buddy's actions tend to net him a low Personal Score despite him being more helpful.

Thats the point he was trying to make. I don't really look at score alone(sometimes it can give u a general idea) to judge a player. I can look at how they play and if they were working with the team and see if they're decent or not. If i see them actually helping us win , i really don't care about their score regardless if its negative or not.
