Loading Border Should Be Based on Queue

It should be just as hard for someone to get any tier in one queue as another. Otherwise, this Elo tiering system is total nonsense. Why would it take 1500 for Gold tier in Solo Queue, but 1450 for Gold tier in Team Queue? Etc.

But yeah, I also play Team Games and Normal more often than Solo Queue. You really have to be a masochist to enjoy Solo Queue.

Because they base the required elo off of percentages. There are more solo queue players, so there has to be a bigger gap in the elo for the percentages to match up. They want about .1% diamond, 1% plat, 5% gold, 10% silver, 25% bronze (at least an old post said they did). They recently changed it though, but it's still based on percents.

You could also make normal games just show the highest border you have attained, but that would probably be wishful thinking. I just despise solo queue and do not want to be forced play it if I want to earn a border.

Cool. I think it creates incentive to play the team part of the game which is the most fun to me :]

Solo Q is also nice but I would like to see the team 3v3 and team 5v5 taken seriously. :]

I completely agree, Each queue should have a banner to match your level of play achieved for THAT QUEUE. It makes more sense and would be more aesthetically pleasing to have your team have matching borders, too (:

I don't see why you don't just base it by map. Not everyone enjoys playing Solo Queue. If I play Summoner's Rift with friends against other groups of friends, does this mean we are less skilled than if we went in and got matched with random people against other random people?

Yeah, this is BS.

Why is solo queue the seemingly preferred game mode? Clearly 5v5 ranked should take precedence--it's actually THE GAME, not teammate roulette.

Well I'd personally be content if it was map by map.

For example, if you get gold in solo and diamond in 3v3, you get the gold border in solo and the diamond border in 3v3 etc.

But it seems a little odd to me right now.

Another thing I noticed, I only get my diamond border in ranked 3v3s. Meaning nobody is ever going to see it except the people I already got the rank with.

I'd much rather have the credibility of being a good sound player with me in solo queue so that people will be encouraged to have me on their team, instead of seeing the gold border and perhaps not taking me quite so seriously.

Maybe I'm not understanding the point of the borders. If they are just to make the individual players happy, then I would assume giving the player diamond on everything if he got diamond in one queue would be the best course of action.

Just something I was thinking about :]

Why is the OP getting flamed because he is a better team player and he enjoys to play with friends rather than solo. It's like we're advocating selfish play and avoid social contact.

The internet these days..
