New episode wasn't bad, I still see Trixie as a throwaway character though, she didn't do anything at all to make me like her more or less. Twilight was cute and the vague star wars references were great <3
Also, in the first scene of the ep you can see Dexter's first creation (from Dexters lab) in the trinket shop
Rarity Belle made me smile, that was adorable

long read in my journal but take a look

I give episode 5 a 9.0/10 for most of it, but perhaps 8.0/10 for the ending.
That comes out to maybe 8.75/10 overall.

First duel was exciting, second duel made me go dafuq is Twilight doing?!.

I smiled a bit when I saw the parasprites.

One more thing, TWILIGHT Y U NO WRITE LETTERS TO PRINCESS CELESTIA ANYMORE?!

I kinda miss the purely happy episodes full of silly gags and stuff So far 3 episodes of this season were more serious (the premiere and this one) Pinkie's ep was mostly half and half, same with the CMC one.

I want more silly jokes and less action in my ponies :x

Ok I lied, this made me smile, probably the first time Trixie has made me smile.

Also when she's talking to Twilight near the beginning, the way she says "forever" is just adorable

Action is fine for me, it gets me excited.
Maybe overly serious action isn't right, but funny action would still be right for the series.

Like the third episode of Season 2, Rainbow Dash doing a sonic rainboom nuke on Applejack's old shed, and Fluttershy doing what looked like mercilessly killing a bear, but turned out to be message therapy.
The twenty-first episode of Season 2, when Spike goes on his dragon journey to be with the other dragons was a fun one.
