So.....I don't see what the problem is here. If a Jewish person owned a pig, that pig would literally be called a "filthy Jew swine".

Is it so wrong to promote a kosher lifestyle with your Summoner name? Perhaps it's a charged name with a lot of meaning behind it, but that meaning doesn't HAVE to be derogatory or offensively intended (other than to the poor pig, who would make tasty, tasty bacon).

You aren't allowed to attack, insult or “call-out” summoners on the forums. It isn't in the code; but it's been stated by Pendragon more than a couple times.

However, the main reason for this is to avoid malicious assaults taking place on the forums and to keep the atmosphere mainly friendly. Reporting ACTUAL violations of the summoner's code are HARDLY breaking that rule.

Not sure how NOBODY seems to understand the difference between those two things...

The difference is that you're supposed to open a support ticket for it as a report. Posting it on forum won't do anything except show it off.

Where's the outrage over Jax's name? Is that not inappropriate? When did swearing become so acceptable?

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. If there was a rule preventing you from posting summoner names on the forums, I would consider this an acceptable exception to that rule, considering this is in direct violation of the code of conduct and the person reporting it could not do so because he/she was not in-game.

It may not be an effective method of getting the report to work, but it isn't against the rules or even really a punishable offense, much less a banable one.


The rule that everyone sites is to prevent someone from going on the forums and saying, for example, "SummonerX is terrible; he lost mid hardcore!" THAT is ban-worthy. THAT is what they want to prevent.

Saying, instead, "SummonerX was particularly toxic in the pregame lobby... he needs to be reported" might not be EFFECTIVE, but it's not punishable.

Let's see. You submit a support ticket for it, it goes to a help desk who routes it to the appropriate section that takes care of it.

However, if you post it on forum, people see it, comment on it, and don't do anything because it isn't in their control to ban the summoner.

Most of the Riot staff on forum can't ban as far as I'm aware, but you posting it on forum anyway is just circumventing the system that Riot has in place for such things.

You are giving them work without a work order essentially, or you're having someone at Riot make a support ticket about it for you because you don't want to.

I worked on a help desk and know that if we let people email or call us directly that we would, at some point, be too busy to put our work into support tickets. This would have it look like we're not doing our job correctly/efficiently or that there isn't much work to do as the system keeps track of the work load, and they can fire someone to save on costs.

There are reasons that you don't see red responses on threads like this, and that is possibly one of them.

Also, the ban for calling out someone would be a forum ban, not an ign ban.

As for your first point, it's totally valid, but not everyone KNOWS how to submit a support ticket.

If someone makes a thread like this, they will likely be funneled to the correct channel . . . not banned.
