Lore: The League of Legends had always been a symbol of peace, yet it could only achieve it's status as such by waging constant wars from within. A paradox that the many citizens of Valoran would accept; the Institute of War was the only thing keeping the hated rival nations from starting another bloody war. But even so, as with many things run by the human race, it was imperfect. Due to underhanded ventures from rival nations, corruption, and political misdirection, the League was eventually disbanded. Within the next ten years, another Rune War was raged, and the entire continent was reduced to nothing but a baren wasteland. However, there were some that managed to survive this war. Viktor, the Machine Herald, had long expected such a thing; humans were such an imperfect species after all, and this outcome was only a matter of time. He had managed to secure his underground lair, and hide away before the Final Rune War tore apart the land. Now, only he and the few that served him, his acolytes, were the last surviving beings on Valoran. Years would still pass. Ivan, Viktor's most loyal and highly ranked follower, grew increasingly worried for their leader; he spent more and more time alone in his private quarters, working feverishly on a project. Concerned for his master, Ivan confronted him. Viktor had explained that he felt the destruction of Valoran was his fault. He could not bring his vision, his Glorious Evolution, to life before the foolish humans had destroyed their world. It was then, however, within the midst of his explanation, Viktor achieved a breakthrough on his project; he had managed to re-create an Arcane Energy Crystal he had sought long ago, which had been destroyed by a rival of his. Viktor announced that now that he had re-fabricated the crystal from reverse engineering a few shards left from the original, he could enact a plan to save the Glorious Evolution. He asked Ivan for his body; in return, he would receive power beyond comprehension. Ivan, completely enraptured by the Herald, eagerly agreed. Weeks passed. In what would be known to the last living people as the "Genesis Project", Ivan was torn apart, piece by piece, leaving the world of flesh forever. Now, only the beginning of a new age, "Genesis", would exist. Every bone, tendon, and ounce of blood was replaced with a robotic compartment. Finally, the last item was activated; the Arcane Crystal Viktor has created. Installing it in Genesis's chest, the creation whirred to life, reborn a perfect being, with all the memories he had from his previous life. With that, the two advanced to the final step. Using an old machine once used for enchanting powerful artifacts that had been re-purposed and the sheer power stored in the crystal, Viktor tore a hole through the fabric of space and time. With a few final words, Genesis marched through the tear, closing behind him just as quickly as it had opened. In transit, Genesis reflected on his master's final words; "You shall be the messenger of my Evolution; teach the men of flesh our ways, make our goals and the future of this world known, and find my old self. Give him this knowledge so that he may accelerate our Evolution" Upon arriving in the past, Genesis looked up to find himself in front of an august looking building; The Institute of War. He chuckled to himself, and stepped forward. What better way to serve his master's goals, then showing the land their might on the world's stage? "Adapt, frail humans, or you will be removed from this world by your own hands. " ~ Genesis Appearance: Genesis is of about average height, 5'11, and shaped like a human. He is, however, completely mechanical; all of his organic tissue has been replaced with metal and wiring. His head and neck area are sort of merged together into his upperbody, making it look as if his head was pushed further into his chest as compared to a normal human. His face and head is covered in a steel mask, like Viktor, with red eyeholes being the only opening in the whole thing. Lines in the steel along the mask give it the impression that his lips are drawn in a straight line, but he has no lips to speak of. His voice is projected from a vocal box inside his body. His chest is completely covered in sleek metal, with a large gem like red arcane energy crystal embedded in the center of his body. His arms are bulky and strong; his left arm ends in a hand, his right arm though has a rather large shield built onto it, with a blade protruding from the end of it, his "Hextech Targe". He has a rather small gun-like device built onto his left shoulder, almost where Viktor has his third arm. His legs are also all mechanical, except they have visible pistons on the backs of them where Genesis builds up the power to move in surprisingly large bursts. On his back is tank of some sort, and also a larger cannon connected to it. Quotes and Animations: *Selection Quote* "Perfection of Mind. Perfection of Body." *Attacking Quotes* "How frail the flesh is..." "Your bodies, so weak" "Cybernetics; the way of the future!" "Evolve now, or face obliteration" "Such pitiful creatures..." "Adaptation; our greatest tool" "I shall show you the path" *Movement Quotes* "All must soon change..." "You will face a future of despair" "Free yourselves from the sins of flesh..." "At full Efficiency." "Metal transcends Mortality" "I am the last of many..." "I was at the End of the World. Now, I am the Beginning of it." "Improve the World. Choose robotics." *Walking Animation* Genesis, when at normal MS, looks to be as if he is jogging from place to place. His Hextech Targe on his arm slowly bobs back and forth and his robotic gun on his shoulder jiggles a bit When at higher MS, he looks like he's dashing around, with a puff of smoke coming from his legs every so often. He now holds his Hextech Targe at the ready, prepared to block any blow or make a strike. *Taunts and Animations* Genesis, when using his taunt, stands completely still and points to his enemy, as if lecturing. "You have no place in our Evolution!" "Conformity can also be Beautiful!" *Jokes and Animation* When using a joke, Genesis scratches his chin, then shrugs his shoulders. "I'm sorry, Summoner. I'm afraid I can't let you do that. "Silly humans. Asking if I run on apples..." *Special Interactions* *When getting a kill on "Viktor, the Machine Herald"* "You wanted to make an ultimate being. You succeeded." *When killed by "Viktor, the Machine Herald" "Wait...I have important knowle-" *expires* *When on the same team as Viktor, they both gain a "Cybernetic Future!" buff. It gives them both 1 additional AP* *When assisting an allied Viktor in getting a kill or vice versa* "Creator and Creation; What could stand against us?" *When surviving for at least 5 seconds after being the target of "Assault and Battery" from "Vi, the Piltover Enforcer" "Might want to upgrade more than just your fists..." *Special Taunt and Animation* Genesis, when in 1000 units of "Jayce, Defender of Tomorrow", will begin a special taunt, which involves him first chuckling, then tapping at the red crystal embedded in his chest. "Here it is, foolish human; come and get it!" *Death Quotes and Animation* Genesis twists his ankle, falls onto the ground, short circuits, and loses power rapidly before powering off and expiring. "Nooo! I'm...supposed to be..." "Systems...Failing! Initiating backup power-" "Auuuuaaagh! B-But..." "Impossible! This cannot be..." *Dance* Genesis will do the male portion of the dance from Pulp Fiction Which is basically him shuffling around his legs and passing his hands over his face multiple times. *Recall Animation* Genesis presses a few buttons under his shield, fiddling around with it, before a hexagonal barrier forms around him, and teleports him back to base. |

Metagame Advice Genesis is an Ability Power bruiser, in the vein of Diana, Cho'Gath, and Swain; he has strong magic damage potential, but his main purpose is to take a beating and lock down enemies, subjugating them to his Glorious Evolution. Because of the liberty at which you can upgrade his abilities, he can play numerous roles on a team; He can become the team's Midlane Champion and focus on dealing some bursts of damage while enabling his team to deal more damage, he can go to the Top and do battle with other Bruisers, focusing more on an expensive tank-AP hybrid build, he can go into the Jungle and focus more on a Tanky-Support style of play, or be a kill-lane Support, although that would be a bit more of a stretch. When playing as Genesis in a lane, you would likely use your Q, Phase Shot, to slowly whittle down an enemy champion from safety, before going all-in once you have all your abilities to try and get an easy kill. By Level 6, you will have had access to Two different upgrades and will have all your skills, so it is a great time to go for it. When playing as Genesis in the jungle, you will likely focus more on farming and only on Ganking once you get your ultimate, because with no gap closers it will be very difficult to get up in another Champion's face, especially if the lane is warded. Once you have your ultimate, Gravitic Prison, however, your gank powers will shoot up rapidly, and you should be able to help snowball your team to victory. Strengths: Genesis manages to do burst damage very well; He can hit you with a burst from his Phase Shot and charge in with Electric Impulse with his Hextech Targe activated; it will take a chunk of the enemy champion's HP out and force them to back away. Later on, his burst damage potential falls off, but he makes up for it with sustained damage; his Hextech Targe's Bonus Damage will eventually start to add up if you leave him alone and try to kill his Carries. He is a strong initiator, especially with upgraded Electric Impulse and Gravitic Prison abilities, and will be able to lock down an out-of-position team very easily. Weaknesses: Genesis has no way to sustain himself in lane; he gets a damage reduction, but that won't do him any good if the attacks are form behind, and even if the damage is reduced, he will still take a decent chunk of damage. He gets a shield, but only after he's upgraded his Hextech Targe at least once, and that won't help him too much. Also, all of his damage is magical and he won't benefit much from a pure offensive item like Void Staff, so MR is usually a safe counter to him. If he's jungling, you can take a breath of relief; on a jungle budget, he most likely won't be focusing on any damage in favor of pure tanky-utility. Finally, unless he's upgrades his Electric Impulse all the way, he has no way to get away from a bad encounter and unless he upgrades his Hextech Targe all the way, will suffer full damage even with the ability up from behind (E.G., running away); suffers from "Diana Syndrome", which is that they initiate well, but can't get out once they're in. He's an All-In type of champion; he either wins the engagement, or loses hard. Recommended Items Doran's Shield Boots of Mobility Aegis of the Legion Rod of Ages Frozen Fist Wits End These Items are all general items that will help any Genesis function in a game; Doran's Shield as just a general early game defensive item, Boots of Mobility to make his engagements at the speed of light, Rod of Ages for both HP and AP, Aegis/Bulwark for team support, Frozen Fist to help lock opponents down harder, and Wits End to really make his auto attacks hurt like hell. Different Roles though, require different builds; If you're playing a Midlane Genesis, more AP Items like Haunting Guise, Sorc Boots, and Zhonya's Hourglass might benefit you more. If you're a jungler and need to run a Tighter Budget, there's always Twin Shadows and Shurelia's Reverie, which both build out of GP5 and are great initiaton/disengage items Genesis would love to have his hands on. You don't always want to build the same stuff every game; You have to Adapt, like Genesis does, to every game's different needs! Contest Requirements: There will Come Soft Rains: Genesis comes from a desolate future, and was designed to be able to prevent the fall of mankind by way of accelerating a Glorious Evolution to a cybernetic future, one without the follies of human sins. He can build himself to be bulky to survive, quicker to chase and detain, deal more damage, or become more resistant to other adverse affects. Scavengers: Genesis's W Ability, Hextech Targe, and it's upgrades all grant him additional stats based on nearby enemy levels. Adaptation: All of Genesis's abilities can be adapted and upgraded into new, stronger abilities. |
