I was thinking of starting builds for AD carry that isn't boots + 3 pots and thought of Hunter's Machete + 5 pots. You have plenty of sustain with the pots and it helps with getting cs if you don't plan on being too aggressive early. I'm not the greatest at cs and tend to miss minions with less than 10 hp so it'll help with early farming.

I use movement speed quints so I'm not super slow and I just wanted people's thoughts on this?

The machete doesn't turn into anything useful for an AD carry. Go cloth armor 5 potions if you want early armor to turn into ninja tabi against a difficult lane opponent somewhere down the line.

If you're having problems last hitting, use AD runes, take 2/2 Butcher, and practise it a bit.

Minions are not "monsters".

I definitely wouldn't take Machete for reasons already stated by Cenerae.

Cloth + 5, or even a long sword + pots might be a more viable option for you if you're struggling to CS.

Yeah honestly if you're not getting CS it's because of a couple things (all of which NOT item dependant).

1. You can't last hit and need more practice
2. You can use the Butcher mastery to help when you miss by 1-4 dmg
3. Stack AD runes instead of Armor Pen runes
3. Your support is picking their nose and letting your opponents zone you
4. You're trying too hard to farm while the enemy pokes and actually damages you directly

The most noticeable problem I see is when they have a good support (like taric or blitz), and a long range poke (like caitlyn). If you try to retaliate, their support is in a position to screw you up bad. If they are behind their creep line though, you can still last hit your minions without getting poked. If they are trying to zone you, they make themselves susceptible to a gank from your jungler (which you should ask for and have your support clearing any of their river wards to be effective!)
