Tanks have MR, squishies don't. It's not the anti-tank item everyone seems to think it is.

Combine it with wits end, sword of the divine, malady and sorc shoes for the epic magic damage lulz.

It deals 4% health no matter how much they health have, minus MR.

So it kills them at an even rate if they both have the same MR. But it'll probably kill the squishy first normally.

I always thought buying madreds was a silly tactic against tanks, because it's passive gets reduced by MR, and any decent tank will have 100+ MR relatively quickly.

It always just seemed to be the carry's item of choice if they didn't benefit as much from IE, or synergized with it better. I'll generally skip it on most carries, though, in favor of armor pen items.

Of course it does. That's obvious. Even if Madred's passive did true damage, it would still kill squishies faster than tanks because of the AD bonus it grants. And even if you took that away, it would still kill squishies and tanks at exactly the same speed... but because your auto attacks do regular damage, squishies would still die faster.

That's why they're called squishies.
