Running windows Vista, on an other wise healthy machine.

I played and loved LoL in closed beta phase.
The open beta patch never worked for me, it just failed to update.

I cannot install LoL, the download uncomressess and I get through a series of downloads in the patcher, but never ever does the play button light up.

I cannot uninstall the game.
I have deleted all files and folders, when I run windows Programs Control Panel, I can still select LoL and the uninstall seems to go well, but nohting happens. LoL is still there in my programs list and I cannot reinstall.

Your help is appreciated.

Try running revo uninstaller, it deletes all files including registry files of LoL. Once its done then try and reinstall the game. Should do better

You can also try CCleaner. Get a complete uninstall and then see if redownloading the setup files and reinstalling works.
