Why yes, left field is very nice this time of year...
I know this has NOTHING to do with anything on this forum, but I was talking with some friends last night and we came to a quite entertaining conclusion; PS3's answer to Nintendo's Wii-mote and MS' Natal has given Sony something neither competitor can develop without risking patent lawsuit; an effective point-n-click device.
Sony's Motion sensor, which is an accelerometer-powered wand recognizable by Sony's EyeCamera, can now let Sony have a serious swing at RTS on it's console. Anything from C&C to SCII can now be easily played with the much needed quick double-clicks, click-n-drag, fast multiple selection, etc.
That includes rts-insipired games such as DOTA. And thus League of Legends.
Take a look at the demo video (if you haven't already), though far from perfect, the Motion sensor already does what LoL needs to be played; the Camera recognized the sensor while it showed on the screen and interpreted it's movement at all times. While gesture-recognition is still being developed in order to turn the Sensor into a wand, a sword, a whip or a paintbrush, the essential function is ready: Pointing and clicking.
So what's your take on my ridiculously good idea?
