They're not "bad." It's just that all the other boots are better.

Because

A) Attack speed is a pretty ****ty stat.

B) They aren't merc treads.

C) They aren't ninja tabi.

D) They give too little attack speed for the cost.

Boots of Speed are better.

I'm not wasting any precious gold on those **** greaves

The other boots give unqiue abilities while attack speed is the most common stat bonus. In "long" you are utilitizing a potentially amazing stat spot for an extremely common stat that doesn't yeild a great effect.

if you are standing still auto attacking much you're probably losing or going to lose as ranged, or any other class, its better to go in with more damage then more auto attacks most of the time.

im not sure on alot of melee champs like jax etc i don't play them so i dont know, but i know on trist/ashe there are much much better choices.

They just pale in comparison to the other boots, which are all amazing.

because i laugh when i see any champion get these boots, it makes me warm inside knowing they are gonna get roflstomped later in the game with their fail builds

if you get ninja tabi AND merc threads, i know it doesnt add the movement speed, but will the dodge & unique passive both work?

not like im gonna use that but just wondering

The idea of atk speed boots is good but that ****ty +25 not worth it.
