Hello there, fellow LoL players! I'm a fair ly recent addition to the community (started playing a month or so ago), and I've run into a bit of a problem. In bot games, I completely destroy the bots with no effort whatsoever. I've even had a 38/2/10 game against the bots, which was enough for me to see that they're just no challenge anymore.

However, when I try PvP games, I get completely and utterly demolished, no matter what role I'm playing. Other players will outplay and outsmart me at every tun, which is rather frustrating to say the least. I've been trying to watch for mistakes on my part and what's making my opponent do so well, but it hasn't helped too much.

So, I figured I'd ask - what are some good tips for getting out of this situation, and what's the best way to practice your skills in this situation?

It can be really difficult to see mistakes while you're in the middle of the game. Something that might help if you want to see your own mistakes is to download LoL Recorder. You can go back and watch from a spectator's perspective and you'll be able to see what the enemy team was doing, as well.

Otherwise, just know that the more games you play, the more data you give the matchmaking system to better place you with players close to your skill level.

Keep playing PvP is the best thing you can do. The bots are not difficult because they are meant for practice and figuring out new champs and builds.

They bots are relatively stupid and don't act like normal players. Also their champion pool is limited which means you're not being exposed to a majority of champions that are out there. What helped me a ton is watching high skill players on Youtube or spectating ranked games. This will give you a good idea of how to play effectively and how to work with your team.

Honestly though just keep at it, you'll start to do better with time and experience and it just takes some time and frustrating losses to get there!

I would suggest when you're ready for PvP you avoid bot games like the plague. Bots are very predictable, and play nothing like real humans, once you get good at bots, you're going to be very bad vs real people.

Your fate? You're going to get your butt kicked over and over until the bad habits you learned playing bots go away.

Luckily, LoL doesn't keep track of your losses or your k/d, so your learning period won't really effect your account or how you come off when people view your profile.

The worst thing you can do in bot games is neglect farm to try to go for kills, because bots are incredibly easy to get kills on. They essentially suicide against you over and over, so you can really learn bad habits that would only work against people who are completely new to the game.

What you can practice is last hitting perfectly while trading. Make it your goal to try to not lose any last hits whatsoever while getting free damage on the bots whenever you can, and ignore them unless you can get a kill without losing more than a few CS. Taking ignite on Caitlyn is a mistake that bots encourage, for example, since you're not punished for it until you lose to all-ins by a competent bottom lane or die to bruisers in teamfights without barrier or cleanse.

All good advice so far, thanks a lot everyone! I'll just keep trying to improve in the PvP games and avoid bot games for the moment.

@TehomCD Thank you for pointing this out, btw. I have a tendency to charge in and attempt to grab kills, but since the bots encourage such behavior, I had no idea I should just farm instead.
