I'm going to have to say Ryze. Ryze is very similar to Zeus in playstyle + you have a root that does damage and you can just annihilate your opponents with very little effort. only trouble is mana. Good luck with your decision!

Honestly there isn't a crazy range caster like Zeus in this game. The closest is probably Annie, but even then you have to get fairly close. There's also Anivia as a good long range caster, but she may be the hardest hero in the game.

I kinda get the feeling your looking for a hero that doesnt have to be at point blank range to contribute to the team as you may have or have had an issue with getting ganked or not skilling well against other champions in a 1 v 1 fight. I would suggest someone who has an ability that will hit multiple targets like sivir or ashe. You can also use the champion finder by putting in the farm category and looking at the ranged heroes. These will allow you to be very helpful in the lane yet keep you at a little distance. Good luck finding the right match.
