Vella: The Needle's Sting
Background: The crystal scar attracts far more than kingdoms and the league. Many anthropologists and scientists flock to the strange forests and jungles located nearby. None are more determined than the scientists of Zaun. Often in the middle of the night, strange lights and what horrific screams of things not human come from the camps these men and women of science. When daylight approaches, the camps vanish without any marker of their existence. That is, until Vella was born. The miners finally made a complaint to the League about these disturbances made by these camps and so a summoner was dispatched to resolve the situation. What he found was a grisly scene. The camp was a ruin of torn tents, bodies, and a strange dust that glowed green ever so faintly littered the ground. In the middle of it all, was a strange female creature covered in the perforated remains of one of the white tents. As the creature continued to kneel and weep, the summoner noticed that she was completely devoid of blood, despite the fact that the devastation could have been caused by no other.
As the summoner stepped closer, the creature whipped around snarling and bearing blood red claws. What shocked the summoner the most was that underneath the quills and tarp was a somewhat human physique.
These are the last memories of one Merkadian Rex, extracted by Ionian mind tracers at the request of the league when Rex's body was found. This request was filed three days after the admittance of the creature known as Vella to the league. End of background.
Due to me being a poor artist, I thought the best way to provide an appearence for Vella was through discription.
Appearance: Vella is a sort of a semi hedgehog creature akin to Twitch only with Vella having a more human face and human body structure/limbs. Her quills would start like anime-esque long hair only the hair is attached to her body until about her midsection then the quills elongate to create the appearance of a large pony tail. She would wear a tattered cloak of white material to reflect the tent tarp of her background. Her hands would be three fingers with very large red claws. The actual color of her quills could be adjusted and the patterns shown could be altered to make easy skins. Like a glossy blue and dark blue for an enchanted version ala Galio.
Her running animations would be similar to Wukong's running animation. A graceful 2 legged run that will switch to a 4 legged run and back again.
Champion art idea: The champion art would feature Vella in a room looking mornfully at her reflection in a large mirror at an angle. Her back would be facing the viewer with a hand outstretched to touch the mirror as if in fear and disbelief. The reflection would show her face in an expression of shock.
Skills: Vella is a melee champions and would feature a new resource management system called Metabolism in lieu of mana or energy. Metabolism starts at 0 out of 100 and is decreased with each ability use while being increased by basic attacks. When Metabolism is at greater than 65%, Vella gains increased movement speed, spell vampire, and health regeneration. When not in combat, metabolism falls very quickly.
Vella's abilities all deal magic damage but scale with AD instead of AP.
Passive: Vella generates metabolism with each base attack and gains movement speed, spell vampire, and health regeneration when metabolism is greater than 60%. Her basic attacks generate 10 metabolism and metabolism decays by 6% each second when out of combat for 5 seconds.
Q: Bloody Dart- Vella flies at an enemy and slashes them dealing 70/90/110/120/130 bonus damage. If the target is a minion, this has a 10/20/30/40/50% chance of dealing 300 extra damage and reduces the cooldown to 2 seconds if it kills. Has a 15/13/11/9/6 second cooldown. Uses 20 metabolism
W: Needle Wave- Vella reverses her quills and throws them in a wave in front of her. Deals 60/90/120/150/180 and slows targets hit by 30%. Costs 35 metabolism. Has 18/16/14/12/10 cooldown
E: Stinging Gash- Vella's next base attack hits twice but generates no metabolism for 2 seconds. Costs 40 metabolism. Has a 6/5/4/3/2 second cooldown
R: Red Vellantine- Vella launches a devastating needle explosion at nearby enemy champions. Deals 200/250/300 and lowers the defense and magic resistance of those hit by 20% for 3 seconds. Does not cost any metabolism and has a 100/80/60 recharge.
