I started playing LoL about 4 days ago, so obviously I'm not an amazing player yet. That being said, I figured out on the first day that you don't repeatedly charge into enemy champs, you pretty much always try and lane up evenly, and in the team battle phase you try and stay together. So far today I've played 6 games as Fiddlesticks, and I've lost 5 of them. A few of these losses came from people on our team leaving early on, but 2 of the losses were caused by players on my team feeding other champs nonstop and then refusing to stick together end game. I managed to maintain a positive kill/death ratio through the 5 losses but having to surrender every game is really getting old. Does the matchmaking system get any better as I get to be a higher level? Is there any way to fill a leaver spot when someone disconnects early on? Does anyone have experience with losing constantly as a low level that can confirm that it does, in fact, get better later on? I love the playstyle of LoL but if I'm relegated to losing the majority of the games I play throughout later levels then I may reconsider getting into it.

Really the only way to solve your problem is to go in with a premade team.

Keep in mind that you might not be a completely new to the concept, but players in your bracket might be. I'm sure there are plenty of casual players or others that are struggling. When I started, I had a terrible win ratio for the same reasons. I always had a positive K/D game, but still lost the game. As you start winning, you'll move away from the lower brackets and start having better results. You'll probably pick up a thing or two during the process as well.
Also keep in mind to not only focus on K/D ratios. You can still have a team that dies here and there, but if you know when to focus on pushes and pressuring them, you can still easily win the game despite the feeds.

Matchmaking balances out after a game of 100-200. It takes a while, and even then you'll find bad people once in a while. Tho its probably better to say 'people who are having a bad game' as theyre most likeley equally good.

kinda, but not really.

don't believe there is.

Matchmaking is all luck, even at higher levels there are idiots so it depends.

Appreciate the responses guys. I played a few more games and won all of them, so I guess it really comes down to luck as most of you have pointed out. Guess I need to start finding good people to que with.

Your best bet is to add people that you notice play exceptionally well in the post-game screen. You can be pretty selective about it, but after a few games you should find a couple people you can group with. After 50 games or so you can make full teams so you won't have to worry about random luck any more.

Once you're past lvl 20-25 or so you should find matchmaking to work very well. its actually a brilliant system, it just has a lot of data to sift through at lower levels. @Santos L Helper, you need to play more, you're still at a volatile ELO level.

Even if you get paired with noobs all the time you should still be able to have fun by isolating one of their players that suck and feed of him. Every team has someone that isn't very good.
