The ability provides a lot more useful opportunities on a fighter vice a support.

There is a brief interview talking a bit about some of his key skills on leaguecraft's front page. The playful/trickster move is very short and has a slight start up time. I think it's more for countering really. The window isn't that large at all really so it would be summoner skill based if I understand it right. All his stuff is mana based too.
