he feels completely out of place with the background. work on softening those edges a bit so he feels like he belongs. the hair while bright, stands out too much for it to feel like it fits with the character. Over all you did a pretty good cut out with the polygon lasso tool, You might try using the pen tool to make a path that conforms to all of the curves and then turn it into a selection instead. It's pretty straight forward and should make for a faster, more reliable, selection.

i like the recolor.... better than most of lols recoloring.
