As for the whole "rage at them so they leave", erm, do you realize that this happens anyway? Two weeks I've played this. I can't tell you how many games I've seen the other team say "Can you report _namehere_ afk plz omfg" or "OMG _namehere_ is feeding report!11eleven". Just because they'd been arguing, or acting nooby. Don't even get me started on the "feeding" report...ughhh...The only reason I don't get picked on is probably because I play Karma/Soraka, who roflstomp even if you only had one finger. But I have to defend someone from verbal abuse probably every other game, and it's ridiculous. Especially since I'm not even playing with level 30s. I expect this from end-game, not in a place where *everyone* is new. But you can't change players, just the game.
And again, you continue to shoot down references that you don't understand. Most people, when they can't comment on one, go "I've never played that, so I don't know." but you continue to talk, which makes you lose credibility with me. Sorry.
In WoW, there are unique classes. They are even more unique than LoL. In LoL you have four abilities, in WoW you have...probably fifty, if I had to estimate. Some passive, some made by your masteries, called "talents" there.
Each tank is entirely unique, as is each healer. Just like you have classes for bot, top and mid, you have different classes for main tank, off tank, tank healer, raid healer, melee dps, ranged dps...And from there it just gets more complex. Look up ElitistJerks and you'll see how to-the-bone unique each class is. Not to mention that each class can be three completely different things. Don't even go there with "it's not unique like lol". It's hard as hell to find a tank when it's 10pm and he had something come up, but we managed it. Why? Because people have things they need to do. It's a fact of life. I see people afk or leave at least every other game. Changing the penalty wouldn't increase that, people are going to do what they need to do.
You really could've just said "I don't know about WoW" it's not like anyone would look down on you for it. I haven't played probably 10 games you have, and vice versa.
As for the "they'd have to have all the items and masteries and runes you have"...erm, why? I've come back from a disconnect for maybe 5 minutes, been ten levels behind, and caught up to contribute just fine. The way I see it is if they leave five minutes into the game, the newcomer is in a perfect spot to start. If they leave ten minutes, all's okay. If it's 40 minutes? Sorry hon. The game is pretty much decided by then.
Tl;DR - ****. Happens. Done right, said **** doesn't have to hurt anybody. The disconnector or the team they leave behind.

Are you ****ing kidding me? You're references to other games are so different from LoL that you can't even compare. Sure WoW has dungeons and raids and battlegrounds, but in a 40-man raid you can have one person leave and it won't make any difference. If someone leaves in a dungeon, say the healer, then you just sit tight and wait for another to get put in. Sure everybody builds differently in WoW, but it's so repetitive that it really doesn't matter if you have a different healer, or tank halfway through the dungeon. Hell you can have a DPS tank if needed sometimes, depending on what class they are. I have been in raids where half the healers left, and we just had some people spec change and the rest of the healers overwork and it was fine. In WoW you are facing against NPC's not actual people. NPC's are predictable, it makes it easier. You know in WoW what the next boss is going to do before you get to him, and you know how to counter everything he does before you get there too. Runescape is the same, and Minecraft isn't a big PvP thing. Sure there is PvP in Minecraft, Runescape, and WoW, but it always big teams for them or solo. Not 5v5. In WoW you go play 10v10 and have 6 teammates leave and you can still defend with 4 people while you wait for 6 new people to connect. LoL you have to hope the person reconnects, because no one is going to take his place. Also, a lot of people can leave for 5 minutes, be underleveled, and then come back to contribute. That is because you learned early game what the other team is like, and what they are trying to build into, and what lanes they are playing. Also, you started a counterbuild and leveled your abilities in the order you wanted, and have the proper runes for the role you're fulfilling, that if someone drops into your place, they have to figure all this out while trying to figure out the other team and deal with whatever build you had up to the point you left. In WoW you join a match with everything you want, how you want it to be, and what your good with. That wouldn't be viable in LoL, if say that you could drop into someone's position, you had to play bottom support, you wouldn't know what runes to use unless you got to watched part of the game which wastes more time, which makes you more underleveled, which makes you more likely to feed because you can't hold your own. In short, stop comparing LoL to games that are RPG. LoL is a RTS game, not RPG. In WoW and runescape, grouping up with people is optional, In league, it isn't.
