I've been wanting to buy one of these for a while now. While Fizz seems like an excellent choice, he's also more intricate and harder to play, it seems. I'm only a bronze player in LoL. However, Diana recently got a nerf, so I'm not sure if she's a viable choice anymore. Please give reasons for why you think whichever is a better purchase. Thanks!

In my opinion, Diana excels at basically wrecking the enemy adc's game. Fed Caitlyn..? No problem! Fed Diana..? Big problem..

Diana is a lot riskier to play, with no real escape mechanism. Fizz on the other hand does less burst damage, but has quite good utility.

Yes diana is quite viable even after her nerfs. She is no longer OP like she used to be, she is quite balanced in the current Meta.

If you are concerned about skill, Fizz as a character is quite easy to play, and requires only good positioning. His ult can at times be hard to pin to the right person, but it is almost always guaranteed to hit somebody. Diana on the other hand, is very very easy to play, but very hard to play well. You need to be good at judging exactly how much damage you can do to your target, and then you must pick the right time to deal it. A bad judgement will almost definitely lose your team that teamfight.. :3

In the end though, to me it really comes down to which i enjoy playing more, which is definitely Diana.

Just my thoughts on it

I would say Fizz does more burst damage than Diana. A Fizz can chunk your HP with his Seastone Trident and Urchin Strike, then troll pole out of the way of any incoming attacks, or use it for more damage.

Fizz is squishier and Diana is tankier, but I would go with Fizz as he has more team utility with his kit.

When i say burst, i mean damage done in a second. And no i have rarely seen a fizz burst down a fed adc in less than a second. Overall i believe she would also have more damage as well, as her Q does 600 damage on a 4 second cd, and every time she q's she can use her ult for another 700 damage, which refreshes instantly. This essentially means she can do 1,300 damage every 4 seconds, or do a single 2,000 damage burst. This is only taking into account two abilities, and does not include linch bane, her shield damage, and her very strong passive (Deals 100% of AP in an aoe cleave on every 3rd attack).

Diana:

Q - 60/95/130/165/200 + (.7 AP) 10/9/8/7/6 CD

W- 22/34/46/58/70 + (.2 AP) per orb or 66/102/138/174/210 + (.6 AP) 10 CD

E- No damage

R- 100/160/220 + (.6 AP) 25/20/15 CD can be recast if target had moonlight on them. 200/320/440 + (1.2 AP)

Fizz:

Q- 10/40/70/100/130 + (.6 AP) + Basic AA damage + On hit effects (lich bane proc) 10/9/8/7/6 CD

W- 30/40/50/60/70 + (.35 AP) on hit + 4/5/6/7/8% target's missing HP + 10/15/20/25/30 + (.35 AP) when activated = 40/55/70/85/100 + (.7 AP) + 4/5/6/7/8% target missing HP on hit. 10 CD

E- 70/120/170/220/270 + (.75 AP) 16/14/12/10/8 CD

R- 200/325/450 + (1 AP) 100/85/70 CD

So, simulation with them having the same items: Rylai's, Deathcap, Void Staff, Abyssal, Boots, Lichbane =546 AP (No runes or masteries)

Diana:
Passive- 250 + 327 = 577 on 3rd strike
Q- 200 + 382 = 582
W- 210 + 327 = 537
E- No damage
R- 220 + 327 = 547 x 2 = 1094
Lichbane- 50 + 409 = 459

Burst damage in 1 cycle = 4 seconds (Q-R-AA-W-AA-R-AA-E-AA)
577
582
537
1094
459 x 2 = 918
AD = 4 hits (102) = 408
Total: 4116

Fizz:
Passive- No damage
Q- 130 + 327 + 107 = 564

W- 100 + 382 + 8% missing HP (No idea on how this is actually calculated. Is the % taken AFTER the initial damage or calc'd for previous missing HP on hit?) 482/3 seconds ~ 161 sec I'm going to only use the % missing on damage previously done by other skills, meaning W-Q = 0 missing HP damage Assuming target has 2500 HP.

E- 270 + 409 = 679
R- 450 + 546 = 996
Lichbane - 50 + 409 = 459

Burst Damage in 1 cycle = 4 seconds (W-Q-AA-AA-E/E-AA-R-AA)
1 second W Q LB- 161 + 564 + 459 = 1184
R Thrown
2 second AA - 107 + 95 = 202
AA - 107 + 111 = 218
3 second E/E 679 + 128 = 807
AA 107 +161 + 193 + 459 = 920
4 second R hit AA 996 + 107 + 266 = 1369

Total: 4700

I choose fizz :P

The only numbers I'm confused about is the % HP and how it's calc'd before/after, but the damage is MUCH higher against squishier targets. Fizz can hit and run while dealing a lot of damage
