For weaponry in a fantasy setting, really the only limit is on the imagination. Look at Persona, for example, where the main weapon is the hidden part of your own soul. You could easily do something like that where a character houses a friendly spirit, or uses their own shadow (not Zed, think something along the lines of their shadow being a tangible, persistent thing they can use like a weapon).
Then there's things like books, which are commonplace objects, but not so commonplace weapons. They've been used as weapons in various media (Kingdom hearts comes to mind first, Zexion's book almost had a life of it's own, and could grow teeth and bite stuff and such).
But for authentic weaponry, I'd also say the Tonfa hasn't been used yet.
