Tryndy was much more OP before his recent nerfs. Tryndy last fall was insane- it didn't matter what characters you played or what you did, if the game lasted > 30 minutes he just could build Bloodthirsters/PD/IE and win, nothing you could do to stop him. With the nerfs, though, his laning phase is much scarier for him. Tryndy basically has to run to the jungle to avoid instadying early on. However, pretty much any jungler (Lee Sin, Shaco, and Udyr are all fine for this) can kill him easily early game. Therefore, Tryndy has to spend the entire first half of the game running for his life whenever an enemy champion appears. He can't even take dragon until around 13 minutes assuming he is averaging a decent CS, which means that it's time for team fights anyways (before he could solo dragon using his ult (or not if he got fed) by level 8 (the same was true of pre nerf Lee Sin)). This means that if you super aggressively hunt Tryndy down and continuously shut him down and steal his farm, he will be dysfunctional until pretty late game. He is somewhat like Vayne on SR- while early game he is weaker and needs to farm, late game he is pretty unstoppable. Late game hyper carries are a fact of life- the easiest strategy against Tryndy is to just slow his ascent and end the game before he gets there. All of the exhaust tricks, CC, and everything else are just additional impediments slowing that ascent. Don't let anyone fool you- a good Tryndy will faceroll everyone else late game no matter what. It's just a question of doing everything you can to stop that from happening before you win.
