I've started playing support with Soraka, and so far it's going well. I was wondering if you guys had any tips for me. I always max w and e first (then of course, r). I generally build Boots of Lucidity, Aegis of the Legion, Soul Shroud, Shurelya's Reverie, and a Rylais Crystal Scepter, if I get that far. I haven't been experimenting with builds much, this is one I got off of Mobefire...

I try to buy as many wards as I can, and the occasional hp for myself. I also grab Clairvoyance and heal as summoner spells, but I think I may get teleport instead of cv, since no one in these lvl 22 games wants me to use it...Anyway, any tips you guys can give me are much appreciated. So far I've gone bot with a Vayne and Kayle; they were both pretty good. I have a tendency to take bullets for my lane-mate, which is great, but because of this, should I grab more armor/magic resist early game? I try getting wards for Dragon and Nashor, important bushes, etc...

Any tips would be great. Thanks!

stick with heal and clairvoyance, over use you'll find out players patterns of movement and eventually get many successful clairvoyances on the jungler.

Do you build Shurelias & Aegis of the legion? In any ranked game I play, Shurelias, Lucidity and sometimes Aegis are the only 3 items I can ever reach, at that point we've either lost/won and the map is always covered by wards/me destroying wards.

Boots 5 used to be what I did, however if you stay safe and sometimes have an escort destroying wards with lucidity is fine too.

Consider swapping Heal out with Flash if you know your lane & jungler ganks are going to be tough on you and your lane partner / team fights won't be as hard as say, a Kennen + Amumu fight.

Zhonya's Hourglass, Abyssal Scepter and Rod of Ages are decent to build if you feel like you need some defense, but don't want to limit your ability power for healing. Obviously it completely depends on enemy's team composition and how the game is going, but they're nice to have.

I would recommend getting Clairvoyance still instead of teleport. Even if your team doesn't super want it, you'll be able to practice with it and get much better with how to use it and using it often/at key points to check different locations. Being in the right spot at the right time is the most important thing about playing a good support. Be careful not to take too many shots for your lane mate b/c a dead support = a free-to-push-and-abuse lane.

Hmmm, I'm normally able to get to Aegis, Shurelias, and Soul Shroud. However, I need to work on constantly buying more wards.

Ok, I'll stick with cv then.
