Please share any tips and tricks you have found which are not obvious even to the semi-advanced summoner. I'm curious as to what strategies people utilize that distinguishes them from the average advanced team and gives them that edge to dominate in Summoner's Rift.

Teams dont dominate because of tricks. The difference between a team that does well and a team that dominates is that the team that dominates does their homework at all times in the game. That's warding, farming well / harassing, counter jungling, getting dragons, ganking, pushing towers, itemizing well. After that it's about using your advantage early game and shoving your superior power in their face or using it in ways that make the team fall even further behind in gold and levels ( stealing their buffs, taking their dragons, 5man tower pushing.

There are two little tricks though.

1) Simple counter jungling: if an enemy jungler starts at blue golem buff, you can steal his wraiths. If at any point you want to prevent a camp from spawning, leave just ONE of the creeps alive.
2) Bush juke: When you're being chased, running into a bush gives you an opportunity to move in a way that your chasers don't expect because you are invis. You can run in the same direction as you came in, tricking your opponents as they thought you would take the obvious route. Even a small lead in distance can make the difference ( nidalee for example ).

I was wondering more about strategy. For example: I've noticed that its easier to take out a tower while other team members are putting pressure somewhere else. Otherwise the whole enemy team tends to descend upon oneself.

If you want strategy... well wow. That's a very broad subject. I'll make it simple for starters.

Denying your solo opponent experience: Push the minion wave to their tower so that tower gets the hits. That's a creep wave that your opponent is missing out on. Can be bad however, as your opponent controls the wave so that the minions bunch up on his side of the river, you are forced to overextend just to last hit and be in exp range. This opens you up to ganks.

As for taking down towers, putting pressure on multiple points on the map works well. In fact, I believe with just a couple of wards you'd be able to manipulate the other team's attention well enough to ninja any tower you wanted.

Split pushers do this well though. Anybody who can clear quickly and has a reliable means of escape. ( shaco for example ).

Personally, my personal strategy is to ward. Groundbreaking, I know. Anytime you get a tower, you can put a ward at the bush leading to wraiths which will help you see anybody heading to red buff. This would be their jungler + ad carry trying to secure an advantage. Blue buff is so integral to many mid ap champions that warding the enemy blue will allow you to steal it, and get some kills in the process.
If you watch any high elo game ( especially competitions ) you'll see a heavy emphasis on warding. Everyone has a high degree of map awareness that with just a couple of wards they have full intel on what is happening in the game. The team who is first to know the other team's intentions / location can capitalize on it. The team without vision is left fumbling in the dark left with fewer safe places to farm, and at a complete disadvantage. If there is any strat / behavior that wins more games I don't know what it is.
