And that is exactly why, in a few years, when League of Legeends dies to some newer and better game or just by lack of creativity, we will have nothing to remember League by, just the gameplay, ever heard of a successful game without a story? I didn't. Imagine if WoW had no story, a game without story is like a book without a cover, you can't remember it and there's nothing to call it by. It's just a game like any other, just like a book like any other.

Expected a sappy lore...

...now I'm dying to know if Ram is going to discover something terrible about the League.

It's a shame Riot decided to remove "story" and "character" from the game.

Though to be fair, Riot's pretty bad at characterizing their characters. "Shen's secret evil brother that nobody mentioned until we thought of him", for example.
