Darius was actually smiling about this! Lux idly backed away, surprised and angered by this change in tone. Either he found her amusing, or he enjoyed this kind brutality. Neither mindset was one that Lux supported. She decided that it was time to give him something to once again frown about.

To Darius, suddenly, Lux simply vanished. A moment later, several feet beside where Lux was, a mirror image of Lux appeared, posing in just the same way. A moment later, it too disappeared, replaced immediately with two halves of Lux - one to Darius's left and one to his right. These halves were divided down the middle, and the 'cut' simply blurred into nothing.

"I own hide and seek, Darius." Lux's halves said in unison, her tone oddly neutral and her expression calm. "Come at me, bro."

These halves too disappeared, and were replaced by a normal Lux, standing to Darius's side, a dozen feet from him.

Now this was something he hadn’t seen for the Lady of Luminosity before although he did not particularly like the premise of fighting someone who was simply going to hide. He brought his axe up and ran his armored hand down the edge of the blade.

“I think you might be easier to find if you begin bleeding. A blow to the leg. I think I can restrain myself enough to avoid severing it from your body. What do you think Luxanna?”

His eyes remained upon Lux who stood about the same distance away as she had when she challenged him. It occurred to him this could be a trick. He’d need to be careful. He hadn’t approached yet. Despite keeping the grin, he was becoming concerned.

This time, James sidesteps the swipe. He seems hesitant to use the Vigilante's Blade, however. He fires another shot.

James barely manages to duck out of the way, the shield whistling less than an inch over his head. He turns the drop into a sweeping kick.

James leaps to his feet, grinning.

"It's all improvised, really," he admits. "Most of my fighting is more reflexive than anything. I react to what my opponent does."
