Amumu also works very well against Jax.

Start Catalyst and just passively push the lane(which you will do better than he) until Jax get's impatient and leap-strikes you(which he will). Then just stand there hitting E when you can until he decides to run(which he will) then bandage toss and try for the kill. You may not get the kill, but he can almost never take you, and he sure can't out push you.

Some say Malphite.... but the only real way to beat Jax is to hope your top does well and the game don't last into 15+ minutes, because a hyper carry like Jax will wipe everyone by then... sadly
