Been playing Summoner's Rift for a good six months now and am really interested in playing Dominion. Would anyone recommend a specific tutorial video that would provide me with the sufficient walkthrough of a typical Dominion match?

I recommend just playing some games. You'll get the hang of it! In general, you want one person at the bottom lane, 3 rushing top, and 1 taking the mid point then running top to help the other 3. The top point (windmill) is the most contested point in the game, so generally you want to focus on it.

If your team needs a semi-tanky initiator and chaser who does physical damage, sure. He's not the strongest duellist though.

How likely am I to get into a lobby of people willing to communicate?

Not at all right now because no-one can communicate.

The likelihood increases with your elo, I'm in the 1700s at the moment and my teams will generally arrange themselves into a mix of magic and physical damage and someone will be prepared to go bot. I have a decent chance of getting a dedicated tank and a poker.
