Yes it's possible using Mejai's Soulstealer and 20 stacks on 5 Mejai's with one Deathcap.

Yeah, an Arch Angel's Build is the way to go for this, but you sacrafice a lot of big items like rylai's, void staff, and other solid late game items. It's also a fairly expensive build, so you've got to be fed like no other in order to pull it off in-game.

Back when i started playing (a year - year and half ago) it was routine to see karthi with 1k+ ap. 1 rabaddons and then just stack archangels. It made me sad.
Though depending on the time period, it was zhonyas ring at that point!

Mejai's is unique XD. Archangel's is the best way. 6 deathcaps can also do it, but it doesn't make any sense to do so.

If you build 3 ROA, Archangels, Deathcap, you will reach 950 with your boots. If you want to take boots off, you can easily topple that. Why Roa? Even without growing, they give more mana than Archangels and you already have one, plus it gives you health for survivability. And if the game keeps going, they will snowball you out of control.
