Somewhere on the other side of the Institute of War
Sigmund Ulfricsson, having just finished talking to Rex and whoever had done the talking for Rex, is patrolling the hallways. Next time I'll make sure the Mustache is clear on where and when, he thinks to himself. I have no idea where that portal is going to exit

In a hallway roughly two hundred feet from the Noodle Stand
The summoners are going about their business as usual. They nod to each other as they pass in the hallway and occasionally stop to converse. Some discuss the noodle stand, others discuss the weather, and still more discuss the results of their more recent matches. It is just a normal day at the Institute of War, as far as they are concerned. They ignore the fact that the nurses, under Dr. Youay's orders, are somewhat more prevalent than normal. They also choose not to notice the man in the black trench coat who passed by earlier that morning, muttering under his breath and staring at the ceiling. If there was a problem, other people would take care of it. It wasn't the summoners' job. However, the normal day is about to change.
With a noise like a generator booting up, followed by a sound that remarkably resembles static, a portal appears near the ceiling in the hallway. Some people glance up curiously as they go about their business, noting the swirling darkness within the portal's mouth and wondering which summoner was dumb enough to go experimenting with magic. Most, however, choose to consciously ignore it. If they take notice of it, then they might be tasked with cleaning it up. Yes. It's much better to pretend that it isn't there and hope it goes away on its own.
However, this hope is momentarily shaken by another static discharge from the portal, accompanied by a feminine scream. The scream gets louder and higher pitched as time wears on, no doubt audible to the anthropomorphic fox, the fox's adopted daughter, and the doctor who has stopped by the noodle stand for a bite to eat. Taking this as their cue to leave, the summoners depart, not wanting to be the last one left in the hallway.
((I'll let Youay or Silver respond, though Feng Bo's reaction is surely welcome))
