Ideally, a top winner will be a creative piece made from scratch, and not based on an existing song. But hey, if you come up with compelling lyrics and produce a parody song with your own instrumentals and vocals, it could be a pretty big hit! We won't stop you--we just want to see what you'll come up with

I'm a little confused. What if I do just an orchestral type of song? Can I just use VST libraries to perform the piece, or am I disqualified if I don't perform the piece myself?

EDIT: Also, does it need to have lyrics in it if I'm doing it orchestral style?
