Summoners are unable to control my mind, only my body.
Brand and I are one, yet when he is summoned, only his mind is synced with the summoner. That's why I am unheard on the Fields of Justice

Pain is simply a state of mind to me now. I don't truly feel any physical pain, though I still act as though I do. Hence my dying breaths on the Fields of Justice.

And as you have possessed a host, currently, the pain that he should feel is what you feel. Hence, you feel pain while I don't.
