The new patch notes show that the mana cost on her Q will be changing -
increased to 60/65/70/75/80 from 40/50/60/70/80

I dont know about everyone else, but i generally max E on Lulu and i already have mana troubles early. With this change maxing E will drain Lulu even faster. I just feel like Riot is pushing every Lulu into the "Max Q" corner.

Thoughts?

Considering that her E was less mana efficient than Q was anyway, there's your problem.

If you weren't maxing Q on lulu you were doing it wrong. Riot knew that glitterlance always took priority over E and W and therefor had to be nerfed to make it a situational ability to max first rather than a mandatory one.

She got a slight mana buff though as well, 5 mp/level

False, if you knew that you were going to lose lane hard you should take E so you can protect yourself and your carry since poke would not be an option.

yeah but thats only 90 mana at level 18. it will hardly be noticable

Or you could use your Q to disengage out of a potential poke, take less damage, and use less mana.
