They do need a Dark Seer-like male tactician styled support.

Even if not supernatural.

Knightly commander!

Armor, longsword, perhaps a map or two on his person.

Designed with supportive commander-esque abilities, perhaps like providing vision of areas, or enemy movements, perhaps enhancing allied things, cooldowns, damage, armor, perhaps setting deadly ambushes.

That sort of thing!
