The major differences between the ps3 and 360 are their online and exclusives. Sure, ps3 has better hardware(and you can play blu-rays if you don't have a player) but you rarely will see the differences in hardware utilized expect in ps3 exclusives. The differences aren't enough to make a decision on, regarding hardware. 360's online is more stable in my experience, and less filled with hackers. But you should mainly look at exclusives and see which games you would prefer, then buy the console based on that.
