Rald slid back, pulling both his arms to his sides as the blade barely misses his neck and body, sliding back in quickly with a swinging slash to his stomach hoping that the strength of the swing would take its time to recover.

I suppose we could ask the thread owner for an exemption unless they're absolutely needed.

Lucas was more than ready for Rald's attack, bringing his sword up to block on the way while moving in slightly closer. He had an idea that might open Rald up a bit if he took the bait.

Rald seeing Lucas move in closer slid in more himself, swinging his short sword at Lucas while his other blade pulled back, moving to go into a thrust position.

The picture of concentration, Lucas slid in further, holding his own sword defensively as his left hand moved and grabbed Rald's right wrist, stopping the attack. Swiftly, his leg came up as he kicked out at Rald, aiming to push him back with it rather than going for damage, planning to let go of Rald's wrist when it connected.

Rald had not been expecting Lucas to grab his wrist. His first thought was to pull his wrist away which yielded no real result. His second thought was on the kick as he felt the kick just under his ribs on his front most side, getting pushed back. He fell down onto his back, pulling his main sword into a defensive position and pulling his legs back to defend whatever might be comming his way. However his short sword hand stayed on the ground, moving his short sword closer to himself.

Lucas moved closer, noting the position of Rald's legs before moving off to the left side to tie up his main sword hand some more. That, and, with Rald on the floor and his short sword hand not in a defensive position, it was likely Rald was preparing to throw some daggers at him. He was prepared to move defensively as he still expected the throws, but they would be easier to avoid on this side.

As Lucas moved to Rald's side a throwing knife flew up at him, preparing another one to further drive Lucas back.

Lucas ducked to avoid the knife, moving back a bit so he could avoid easier, and readied himself to come in when Rald tries to get back to his feet.

Seeing Lucas move back he quickly sheaths his other knife and rolls away from Lucas, grabbing his short sword as he jumped up back on his feet expecting Lucas to be almost on top of him.

Lucas rushed in when Rald was maneuvering back to his feet, moving in close to strike. Seeing his arms move to the sides, Lucas slashes down towards the helmet, hoping to catch him unable to defend that position.
