Arena fight!

Rald couldn't do much against Lucas' assault but perhaps this opened an opportunity he had been waiting for. As he was punched he dropped his short sword, his hand flinging out a bit before he drew it to the belt of throwing knives he had, though this one had a special property to it. Rald was forced back by Luca's punch and charge, but he closed up as much as he could to deny Lucas attack targets.

Lucas expected Rald to close up, but his target had always been Rald's shoulder to stop him from dual wielding. With a powerful two handed slash, he cut into Rald's shoulder, his armor at that point not strong enough to hold off such a ferocious assault.

Rald let off a grunt when the strike hit him in the shoulder. It hurt far more than what his verbal reaction to it said, some blood seeping out of the wound quite quickly. The sword seemed to drop from his hand but suddenly stuck itself onto his leg, likely from an enchantment pulling metal together. However as he moved back he threw a throwing knife straight at Lucas' stomach area.

Lucas noticed the knife just in time, dodging away from it by moving to his left. However, it managed to slice him as it went past on the side where Rald's sword had cut open his armor earlier. It stung a bit and managed to cut far enough to draw blood. Before he retreated, he picked up Rald's short sword and slid it on his belt somewhere. He didn't know if Rald might have been able to get in a position to heal that wound, and having it may be to his advantage.

Rald barely managed to contain his smile as the throwing knife had managed to connect. Quickly recovering his feet he pulled his longsword off his leg armor and prepared his stance, a white piece of cloth in his hand. It wouldn't heal his shoulder completely but the blood loss wasn't something he really wanted to deal with. And Lucas would likely want to attend to his own bloody wound, though the significance wouldn't be felt until later.

Noticing Rald had moved into a defensive position, he decided to quickly attend to the wound. He used a quick healing spell to close the wound over. Fortunately, his own strike had dealt more collateral damage than Rald's quick knife throw, but Lucas had noticed the blade had been glistening a bit. Channeling his life magic, he decided to check what it was while Rald attended to himself.

Rald watching Lucas closely affixes the white cloth to his wound, it immediatly sticking to it and stemming the blood flow. Noticing Lucas performing his magic he rushes in with the sword in his right hand now as he held his left as defensively as possible. With his shoulder wound he wouldn't he able to do much with it.

Lucas patiently waited for his scan to show something as Rald charged. His magic managed to detect that there was a poison that had been applied to him, but, before he could identify more, Rald had moved in too closely. Lucas was more than ready to defend, though. He could immediately rule out poisons that kill or paralyze, so that was a plus at least.

Rald moved in with a slightly reckless charge, but his main purpose was just to stall for a bit while his poison taken effect. Since he wasn't sure how good Lucas' healing capacity was he had to assume Lucas might know about it and he needed to keep Lucas fighting. He aimed the slash down at Lucas' neck.

Lucas easily parried it off and moved in, quickly aiming an elbow at Rald's head.
