Hello my wonderful readers, I am Micaiah or some of you may know me as Subqt as it was my previous name before I named changed. After much procrastinating, I finally got around to making an Ahri dominion guide. Now I don't claim to be the best ahri there is in dominion, but when it comes to ahri and her in this mode I know my stuffs. This guide is here to help those of you who are struggling with making her work.
A little bit of background before I start the guide bit. I've been playing League since a couple weeks (maybe one or two) before ahri's release, and got her 7 days after her release. Since then ive played this champ countless times and know her like the back of my hands. Recently I substituted for one of the DD tourneys, Netorare man's team, and played her throughout it with 0 voice communication on my end. We ended up getting 1st place in that tourney, some say it was my fox and me that lead us to victory, I say it was pure teamwork. tl;dr I know my fox, NOW onto the ahri guide. ^_^
ITEM BUILD FOR TOPLANE AHRI.
This is my personal preferred core when it comes to building ahri for top lane, and it is as follows
pro ring, boots, 1 mana pot, 1 hp pot, ability tome, ruby, haunting guise, codex, kindlegem, sorc boots.
At this point in the game you have about 22% cdr which is essential for ahri and two vital spell pen items. From here you can either chose to finish up bft OR go ahead and grab sweeper. Personally i prefer sweeper because jungle control in dominion is absolutely vital and sweeper helps you with this. Finish up your sweeper and bft and your next items are situational.
Basically if they have a hard BRUISER melee team, with maybe one ap, youll want rylais into void, if they have an avid amount of ap youll want abyssal into rylais. My end game builds usually looksomething like this
Sorc, sweeper, bft, void, rylais, abyssal/wooglets (depending on if you want the armour + moar burst OR mres for ap oriented teams) Just watch what the enemy builds and build accordingly
SKILL ORDER
Q, W, E, Q, Q, R,
At this point I put another point in W. Some of you are probably like wtf??? why not keep maxing Q?? Because at level 7 in the game your Q does enough damage as is, why not make your more spammable spell (and higher damaging) do a little extra oomph? So go ahead and put another point in W at 7, then finish off maxing Q, then max your W, when you hit 11 get obligatory R, finish maxing E.
INDEPTH AHRI ABILITIES
Passive: Essence theft Ahri gains a charge of Essence Theft with each enemy unit hit by any of her spells, with a cap of 3 charges gained per spell cast. Upon reaching 9 charges, Ahri's next spell will have 35% bonus spell vamp.
Honestly this passive isnt too hot in dominion, due to the aura its not as great as it could be. Really not much to say here
Q: Orb of Deception Ahri sends out an orb in a line in front of her and then pulls it back, dealing magic damage on the way out and true damage on the way back.
This is ahri's poke, 880 range does some nice poke damage and true damage to boot! The orb goes through minions and obstacles until it reaches its end. The best way to poke with this is hitting champs with it at the very tip, they cant dodge the comeback true damage this way since its hitting them for magic and true at the same time
W: Fox-Fire Ahri releases three fox-fires to surround her for up to 5 seconds. After a short delay after cast, each flame will target the closest enemy unit to itself, prioritizing champions, and deal magic damage to the target. Additional fox-fires that hit the same target will only deal 50% damage.
This is Ahri's most damaging ability, it has higher ratios than Q and is a lot more spammable. Poking with this is simple, simply hit your W and walk into the outside range of an enemy player (assuming its not something like annie talon fizz ryze leblanc kass etc) and let your W lockon. Youll usually want at least two Ws to hit someone if you're poking with this (VERY RISKY) if you wait for the third foxfire to hit the enemy may very well engage on you
E: Charm Ahri blows a kiss that travels in a line in front of her. The first enemy it hits takes magic damage and is charmed, forcing them to walk harmlessly towards Ahri while being slowed by 50% for the duration.
Ahri's taunt, using this smartly will ensure the death of an enemy player. The best way to use this is lining it up with CC of your teammates. For example, let your panth go in and W something, WAIT FOR HIS STUN TO END, and then follow up with a charm and your combo. Also great for catching people out of position and setting up kills! Use it wisely
R: Spirit Rush Ahri dashes towards the cursor and fires essence bolts, dealing magic damage to up to 3 nearby enemies, prioritizing champions. In the next 10 seconds, Spirit Rush can be cast two additional times before going on cooldown. Each enemy can only be hit once per dash.
This ultimate is so badly used on most ahri's i see, it makes me want to cry. Sometimes I do cry....but anyways knowing how and when to ulti with ahri is absolutely crucial in her playstyle. How to ulti with this is so situational I cant really explain it. You want to use it to setup a nd position yourself as well as kite the people chasing you around, The biggest thing you must know is you need to combo her R and not just spam it. I try to get at least one R off for the initial damage, save the last two for either cleaning up and adding more damage or escaping. Also, try to use your R dashes in combo with your Q and W (mostly W) as you will do maximum burst this way.
