If you read through, post what you think of these skins.

Alright, it's no secret that Maokai has only 1 good skin, and it is not available anymore. So I have created this thread so that we can pool together ideas and hope that riot will eventually put in a skin worth buying. If you have any input about these skins, do not hesitate to say so! And if you are able to draw any of them, feel free and I will add them into the descriptions.

Ideas so far:
Tropical Maokai (Taken from other thread a while ago)
Looks like a short palm tree.
Q: Same thing as normal
W: The snare will be palm frawns draped over them
E: Throws Coconuts that roll into people to explode
R: Sprites of island dancers jumping around the AoE circle (where the sparkles are normally)

Recon Maokai
Looks the same as a Summoner's Rift tree
Q: Same as normal
W: Same as normal
E: Throws an acorn that has legs and runs like normal
R: Small sprites of people run between trees around the AoE circle (where the sparkles are normally)

Battlecast Maokai
More flat plated, shiny, clean
Q: Same as normal
W: Metal rods encase the player
E: A windup toy is thrown that moves in a very jittery way
R: Metal parts fly around the AoE Circle (where the sparkles are normally)

Junkyard Maokai
A trashcan with stuff spilling out of it
Q: Banana peel sprites fly outwards
W: Encased in dark sludge
E: Assorted trash items are thrown (Cans, Rotten Apples, Tires)
R: The ground becomes sludge-like and darkened.

Cherry Blossom Maokai
A Maokai that has more branches, but thinner ones. He is coated in white flowers
Q: Flower sprites explode from the line
W: White flowers encase the champion
E: Large cherries are thrown
R:The ground is covered in flower pedals and the circle around the AoE has flower sprites flying around it. (Where the sparkles are normally)

Thorned Colossus Maokai
A darker take, Maokai's left arm provides a huge thorned shield, ending in a gnarled, razor-like hand, while the rest of his body is covered in a thick mass of jagged barbs.
Q: Revised animation has Maokai swing a massive overhead smash into the earth, dark wooden barbs fly out in the area of effect.
W: Thorned Root grasps at the opponent for the snare
E: The Saplings similarly would have a earthen/gnarled/thorny appearance, with revised sound effect (perhaps a hiss or growl instead of the higher pitched alert shriek)
R: A ring of gnarled roots and wooden clawlike spike sprites (similar but smaller than the Nevermore claws) around the edge, growing in and out of the ground.

Money DOES Grow on Trees Maokai
Maokai with the leaves replaced with dollar bills
Q: Dollar bills fly out from the animation
W: They become entrapped in a coin coffin
E: Sacks of money run up and explode with dollar bills and coins
R: Coin sprites and dollar bills are in the circle around the AoE

Skeleton Maokai
Its body becomes a skeleton with thick, grey bones
Q: bangs into charred earth, shoots flaming skull.
W: black tornado with bones, roots r a rib cage

R:bones flying around and flaming bone runes used as the "seals"

Any more ideas that are well thought out and not total trolls will be put up here as well.

I remember reading about someone suggesting a Cherry Blossom Tree Maokai skin, I thought it would be kind of cool.

That is, if riot could make it work :P

I think that these skins are great ideas! However imo riot has already made quite a few "Junkyard" based skins already and as for battle cast, being as they are going to be a team much like the commandos are with Demacia, I feel like riot already has their line up. I really like the ideas of the first two and the idea of a cherry blossom tree on as well, maybe you might want to post some pictures of what this may look like if you have an idea in your head and try to get people to up vote the pictures and get riot's attention! Keep up the good work

Well I can't draw to save my life, but I'll put up that cherry blossom tree idea.

And in the battlecast chogath they made it sound like a lot of people are going to become battlecast.

Junkyard team as well? All I can think of for junkyard as of now is Trundle.

I regret nothing in bumping this, for Maokai needs the love from everybody who can give love to him.

New Rammus skin, but no love for Maokai? Smh

Astronautilus is getting released. Congrats to the creator of that idea!

Personally, I think it would be a good fit and timing for a new Maokai skin. In the vein of Zyra and Blackthorn Morgana I could see Maokai getting a companion skin to their style. The exception being that instead of vines, his would provide more of that bulkier, "thorned wall" feel. Stylistically, give him that sense of power and bulk that fit him, and the sense that he is not someone you should attack unless you want to feel repercussions.
