They're choosing their real, actual "favorite champs".

When it comes to ranked, real competition and the works like these tourneys, you can not sit around attempting to simply use your most favored champions with your fingers crossed and hope to win. No, you have to use proper team comps. Which come down to countering the enemy team, using what is necessary for your own team as well. And using champions that your team knows how to play well along side.

So when you look back at these pro player picks you get to see the champions they really like outside of tourneys. The champions they can't actually get a chance to use in the tourneys. That's what this is all about.

I hope Riot comes out with more of these. :3
