When watching the game yesterday my friend asked me, "How do they get to the regional qualifiers to begin with." How do the teams get there, because there are tons of other teams ranked higher in 5v5, than the ones that were there.
How do the teams get to the regionals to begin with? I just want to make sure it is not some elitists bull**** deal.

The difference between the teams on the ranked ladder and these teams is LAN tournies. On the ladder that is pure 5v5 play online, most of the teams that go to these events are sponsored and don't play much in ranked 5v5.
The majority of their practice against other teams is scrimming against other pro teams. It's really just a difference in what they play LAN tournies are what are based on because theirs a big difference between a LAN event and being online.
