No, e-sports are a joke in NA because we don't understand the concept of "team". The players are too egotistical and too self-centered to form a strong cohesive unit. When mistakes are made, teammates rage and point fingers instead of addressing the issues. When their strategy fails, they just fall apart.
The contrast between a real team and a NA team was pretty apparent yesterday when the Korean teams basically roflstomped them. It wasn't that individually they were much better than their American counterparts. It was that they played as a team much better than their American counterparts. The NA teams looked sloppy and disorganized by comparison.
If NA really wants to compete there needs to be a fundamental shift in our attitudes and perspectives. This is a TEAM game. Thinking you're god's gift to the gaming world and raging at everyone else is going to get you beat, and hard. Especially in professional competitions.
