Observation: The orb at the bottom of the New Soraka's staff is the same kind of orb that Irelia's blades gravitate to.

Theory: Soraka and Irelia are magical girls and their true selves are inside their soul gems.

Prediction: Warwick WILL "kill" Soraka and take her heart but Soraka will be reborn in a new vessel as long as the gem stays intact.

I'm being semi serious. I believe that the gems are related since Soraka is the one that revived Irelia.

Although with the massive lore rework the Ionian war might not have even happened so I'm not sure what to think.
